Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention awareness campaign observed nationwide. In honor of this annual campaign, the Drug-Free Coalition of Tippecanoe County works together with community agencies to transmit a healthy and drug-free message to community members through various events.

Thank you to everyone that attended our annual Red Ribbon Week Kick-Off Breakfast! It wouldn't have been possible without the help of our sponsors, volunteers, participating schools, and community members. We had a great time recognizing our student bookmark winners, meeting our new RISE representatives, and listening to some wonderful speeches by our Honorary Chairpersons!

We want to give a special shout out to the following people that made our event both fun and inspiring:

  • Tony Roswarski, Mayor, Lafayette
  • John Dennis, Mayor, West Lafayette
  • Tracy Brown, Tippecanoe County Commissioner
  • Jeff Stefancic, Associate Dean of Students, Purdue University
  • Matt Painter, Head Basketball Coach, Purdue University
  • John Klinge, Head Coach of Women's Swimming and Diving, Purdue University
  • Dan Ross, Head Coach of Men's Swimming and Diving, Purdue University
  • Nadine Morgan, Associate Head Coach of Women's Basketball, Purdue University
  • Mike Piggott, Director Community Relations, Purdue University (emcee of the breakfast)

Volunteers:

  • Laila Lemcharfi
  • Sherry Hockerman
  • Amanda Balser
  • Joe Radzikowski
  • Sharon Hutchison
  • Amanda Hager
  • Donna Meloy
  • Jennifer Swartz
